The booking request

Your name, phone number and email, where the work is (the street address and the town or postal code), the vehicle or machine and its VIN if you give it, what’s going on, and the days and times that suit you. For fleets, the company name and fleet size. For boats, the engine type and where the boat is.

We use it to look over your request, confirm a time or suggest another, find you, and do the work.

Calls, texts and emails

What you tell us, and the number or address you reach us from. We use it to reply to you.

Records

We keep a record of requests and visits so we can see what was done before and answer questions about it later.

• Spam protection. A scrambled (hashed) form of your internet address may be kept to stop repeat or automated submissions. It can’t be turned back into the address.
• How you found the site. The page you first landed on, the site that sent you, and any campaign or ad click tags in the link (such as a Google click ID) are saved with your request, so we can tell which ads are worth paying for.
• Cookies. Necessary cookies keep the site working: your booking in progress, spam protection, your cookie choice, and our own login. Analytics and ads measurement cookies are only used as your cookie choices allow. Right now the site uses none.

A few outside companies help run this site. They handle your information only to do their part.

Stores booking requests and messages in a database.

Passes your request on to our email, if it's in use.

Google (Gmail)

Delivers your request to our inbox by email, and keeps a copy of that email.

Resend

Sends emails, if email copies are switched on.

Twilio

Sends text messages, if text alerts are switched on.

Google Analytics and Google Ads

Count visits and show which ads bring people here, if they're in use and your cookie choices allow it.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Checks that a form is being sent by a person, if it's in use.

Some of these companies store or process information outside Canada, mostly in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

If you agree to ads measurement, your email and phone number may be shared with Google in a scrambled (hashed) form, only to measure whether an ad led to your request. If you don’t agree, this doesn’t happen.

Ad personalization is switched off, so none of this is used to show you ads.

Everything you send travels over an encrypted connection. Only we and the people who look after the website can see requests and messages.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email dustysdieselandautoservices@gmail.com with your name and phone number, and we’ll look after it.

In Ontario, Canada’s federal privacy law for businesses, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applies to how we handle your information. If you’re not happy with how it has been handled, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If anything here changes, the date at the top of this page changes too.
